Milburn, The Rifles and I fucked my mate’s mum
Went out to see The Rifles last night, supported by Milburn. Both were fucking good and well worth seeing, especially for six squid…. Shame we don’t get more decent live bands down here… the place was full of indie kids in trilbys, with badges, skinny jeans, and allstars… the most clichéd of which later turned out to be the guitarist for the Rifles… best tracks for them were Repeat Offender and Local Boy.
Personally I preferred Milburn, (loads of downloads here), particularly Lipstick lickin’. The only negative of the night was reading the lead singer of Milburn’s txt msg that he was composing whilst he was watching the Rifles… it started out “The gig was pretty shit”… hopefully he was referring to the first band on, who were indeed pretty shit to say the least…
Oh and a chunk of ceiling fell on the drummer from the Rifles whilst Milburn were playing… hardly surprising that Cornwall isn’t the centre of live music when the venues are falling apart…
